Friday

Optimism still reigns supreme and I was alert and happy when I was driving over to the P.T. time at Jan's.  Interesting summer as it was overcast and raining when I got there.

60 minutes later and rid of 2 gallons of sweat I felt like a noodle.  We did several of the Wed. activities and added several more.  I am most challenged by the tricep weight lift behind my head and trying not to knock myself out with the weight.

Speaking of weights - I foolishly thought that I would be working my way up to 8-10 pounds by Dec but Bryan has me using 6 - 8 pounders all ready,  They are a challenge but I think I should see some results.

The rest of the day went pretty well but I feel some extra fatigue -- could be the exercise, could be getting up at 4:30 am.  Took a 4 - 5:30 nap and then was asleep by 10:30.  May have to get a clue and go to bed at 9:00.  (Am fighting these ideas as I still want my summer mindset.

A New Beginning

Well - resolutions need to be made and broken but every once in a while you realize that you have to really exert yourself to get somewhere.

Today was my first morning with a personal trainer.  He arrived at 4:55 am and led me through a series of warm ups, core exercises and then weight activities for an hour.  I am completely a beginner with the core strength between a miniature marshmallow and a piece of cooked spaghetti but Bryan was encouraging and optimistic.  I was surprised that he had me using 6 and 8 pound weights, plus this bell ball thing.

After he left, Jet and I made the 2.2 mile circle walk.  She mentioned that we had not done this in a while -- it took some effort and she just glanced over at the 2 big rabbits we saw at the 1.75 mile mark and  nodded.  No effort to chase at all.  Well soon they will be in mortal danger as we build up our strength.
